Molson Canadian is introducing what may be the biggest hockey innovation since the curved blade.
The Brewmboni, part mini-robot vacuum, part cooler, combines one of the most iconic parts of hockey – the ice resurfacing machine – you know, the giant wheeled beast that comes out of hibernation in between periods of a hockey game to fancy-up the ice – with one of its most common luxuries: beer brought directly to your seat.
The Brewboni fits up to four Molson Canadian tallboys and can detect and clean up messes while fans cheer their favorite NHL teams.
“With the NHL playoffs ringing in a second virtual season, we know that Canadian hockey fans are missing the sights and sounds of their hometown arenas more than ever,” says Joy Ghosh, senior brand director for the Molson family of brands. “The Brewmboni is a light-hearted way that we can bring fans closer to Canada's game while enjoying an ice-cold Molson Canadian from the comfort of their squeaky-clean living rooms.”
While the Molson Brewmboni is in the prototype phase and not available for purchase, fans who want one of their own can sign up for updates on its availability online. The site also includes 3-D printing files for fans who want to create their own Brewmboni at home.
The official beer of the NHL and four NHL teams, Molson Canadian has celebrated hockey’s return all season long. Last month it worked with Sportsnet to present “Hockey Night in Canada” in seven additional languages. In January, it released its first hockey-themed ads since 2018. And Molson Export renewed its claim as the official beer of the Montreal Canadiens, a title it held from 1957 to 2015.
“There’s nothing more Canadian than hockey, and no beer celebrates Canada more than Molson Canadian,” says Ghosh. “We know fans want nothing more than to watch their favorite teams up close, but until then, Molson Canadian will help bring the hockey experience to them.”
