Molson, Bumble team up for hockey dream date

Molson and dating app Bumble are teaming up to give five lucky Canadian couples an epic first date, especially if they like hockey.

The Canadian beer brand will foot the bill for a night out fit for VIPs at a hockey game involving one of four Canadian partner teams: the Edmonton Oilers, Montreal Canadiens, Ottawa Senators or Toronto Maple Leafs.

“The top activity our modern Canadian hockey fan is anticipating in a post-COVID era is dating. What if Molson could spark new connections for these fans through the common interest of hockey?” says Véronique Foucaud, marketing manager for Molson brands. “Molson is all about bringing people together — and, of course, hockey — so partnering with Bumble to create the ultimate hockey date was a no-brainer.”

With the Molson Matchup, Molson -- which grew share and revenue in Canada last year -- will provide transportation to and from a hockey game in one of the four cities, premium seating, dinner and beers at the game, VIP in-arena treatment and some of the best team swag available.

Now through March 10 in Ottawa and Edmonton and March 17 in Montreal and Toronto, fans can enter for a chance to win the contest by matching with the Molson Matchup profile card in Bumble or going to MolsonMatchup.com.

“We can’t wait for couples to connect in real life and have an epic first date, hopefully with a beer in hand,” Foucaud says. “We know Molson can help singles break the ice and ignite those moments of in-person connection.”
